This building came about as a result of substantial community activity and is an example of how a motivated people can achieve a significant goal for their community.

The historical account is exceptionally detailed and describes the activities engaged in to raise the funds and also the relationships and attitudes displayed toward the project. It is a valuable document for anyone that engages in a campaign for a public facility to be provided.
The first meeting to formally discuss the idea of building a swimming bath took place on the 29th August 1955.
Waterfield Swimming Bath Opened 8th May 1965.
The Bath celebrated its 50 year anniversary in 2015.
