AN A.B.C. OF A.R.P. APPLIED TO PUBLIC BATHS AND WASH HOUSES
FOREWORD BYJENKYN GRIFFITHS, B.Sc., P.A.Inst.W.E., Editor.
BATHS AND BATH ENGINEERING presents the information contained in this supplement with every confidence and with a fervent hope that from its perusal the Public Baths Service may derive much benefit.
The possibility of poison gas being used against the civilian population during air raids, and thus placing men, women and children, the blind, sick and helpless in the front line, may be terrible to contemplate and deserving the abhorrence of all decent men, but to allow the public to remain defenceless and unprepared for such a calamity would also merit condemnation.
The Government policy of being prepared, and preparing the nation for any such eventuality through its air raid precaution scheme has been received with enthusiasm throughout the Empire.
Much has already been done ! Much remains to be done !
The public can rest assured that the National Baths Service will do its utmost, and will continue with characteristic tenacity to serve them well.
