Institute of Sport & Recreation Management
The Association of Bath Superintendents (A.B.S.) was formed in 1921. The name of the organisation has been changed over the years to reflect the changing nature of the industry and the profession its members represent.
National Association of Bath Superintendents (N.A.B.S. 1931 to 1961)
Institute of Baths Management (IBM 1962 to 1979)
Institute of Baths and Recreation Management (IBRM 1980 to 1994)
Institute of Sport and Recreation Management ISRM (1993 to 2011)
In 2011 the organisation merged with the Institute of Leisure & Amenity Management (ILAM) to form the Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (IMPSA)
This organisation gained Chartered status in January 2012 and became the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA)
